Amal Ahmed Albaz is an internationally renowned poet, author and speaker with a vision to change the world– one word at a time. She has spoken at conferences around the world and gave a TEDx talk when she was only 16. Amal received her Bachelor of Journalism from TMU, worked as a reporter with Canada’s largest newspaper, and before then, covered stories on the ground in Egypt, and interviewed Syrian refugees on the streets of Istanbul. Since becoming a mother (of now 4 children), Amal has reclaimed her passion for creative writing, performing poetry around the world, authoring children’s books, and writing whenever she can.

Over the past decade, Amal has given hundreds of talks, performances, and workshops inspiring others to not just turn their spark for writing into a bright and blazing flame, but to discover their true potential, and to think about the legacy they leave behind. Amal focuses on spiritual development and self empowerment, helping others deepen their connection with God, fostering their love and understanding for their deen.
